Empty Chair is a rock band that started as an acoustic band formed of three self developed talents who came from different countries and met in Amman, Jordan in January 2011. In late October 2013, two new astists joined the family and the band now is formed of 4 members: Kamal Shbeir (Vocalist), Hamzeh Al Saket (Guitarist), Nader Thalji (Drummer) and Zaher Madanat (Bassist).

After his first degree in Beirut, Kamal (vocalist) joined an art school in Amman, where he met Taifi (guitarist) who has been playing with local bands. Kamal was eager to start a band, and started by recording one track with Taifi in the studios of their art school. But after graduation they went their separate ways.
In early 2011 the two ran into each other and decided to pick up right where they left off. Thats when Mohammed Hindi (guitarist) joined and the rehearsals started at his house. A couple of months later a friend offered the guys their first gig at Negresco; a pub she ran.

Before the first gig Taifi came in with news of travelling to Dubai right after the gig, which led a friend to jokingly refer to them as "the empty chair band", and even though Taifi didn't leave the band until Februardy 2012, the three performed their first after presenting themselves as Empty Chair.

The band started gaining a rapid local fame, and in few months went from a small pub to booking its weekly gig in bigger outlets. On May 20th 2011 Empty Chair participated in the NYIT Talent Competition and came first. The performance received a special feedback from the prominent jury comprised of local music figures and specialist. Accordingly, the media became interested and the fan base started increasing rapidly, and the demand for Empty Chair to perform in different outlets and occasions around Amman has been constantly growing since.

In Late 2012 Mohammad Taifi left the band and Empty Chair was fortunate enough to get a new lead guitarist, Hamzeh Al Saket, a young talented guy who added a new flavor to the band.

So far through the journey, Empty Chair has been modestly self financed and managed in a poor music market, especially Rock genre. However, the band is close to releasing its first album, hoping to meet the same loved performances of cover songs it presents.

In late October 2013, two of Jordan's finest talents joined the band, Nader Thalji (Dummer) and Zaher Madanat (Bassist).
Later in March 2014, Alaa Faqir (Lead Guitar), one of the most talented guitarists in Jordan, joined the band and empty chair became a full band for the first time.
