Rachel Cynthia Stakel a.k.a G-girl (Gods girl) was born on the 4th of December 1988. G-girl was born and raised in Suriname, a beautiful South American country. From a tender age she started singing and as she grew older she started developing her voice, singing specials in church and being part of the worship team. At the age of 18, G-girl placed first in a singing contest in Suriname and this motivated her to pursue on a professional basis. . In that same year, she recorded her first single in Guyana, a collaboration between well known Guyanese artiste Kester D and herself. In 2011, she released her first album in Suriname named “Good Woman”. G-girl had the opportunity to minister in different countries such as Guyana, French- Guyana, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Holland and Barbados. While ministering in Guyana she met well known gospel artiste Jay Square, after which they collaborated on a single, which is on his Square Root album released in 2012. Jay Square saw the talent in G-girl and offered to help her along in her musical journey and she accepted. G-girl, now residing in Trinidad and Tobago pursuing her Msc in Global studies, has joined the record label “Empress Records” managed by CEO Jay Square and continues to make waves in the gospel world across the globe. With her first few singles recorded and released in T& T, “Never Gonna Run”, “Nah Fear” and “Christ Reps”, making waves on the local and international radio, she continues to pursue her musical career, spreading the word of God through music, to the rich and the poor, to the high and the low, encouraging the young and the old.
