Tihlabani Award winning Producer & Rapper; singer, sound engineer, songwriter, DJ and Founder/CEO of Claiming Ground Records, Swaziland’s very 1st record label, founded in 2006. Mozaik is a Jack of all trades and surely a master of all.
Born Muzi Ngwenya on the 12th of March 1985, Mozaik The Producer was brought up into a somewhat musical family, with a mother singing for Manzini Choir and a father who was a huge collector of music. Having produced for Award winning
artists such as South Africa based Afro Soul artist Nomalungelo, R&B sensation Tiyas, Msimisi, Hip Hop artists Psycho Lution as well as Crax, and a lot more, he has managed to capture each
one of these artists’ personalities and provide a platform for them to truly be expressed.
He spent 2 years in Scotland studying Sound Engineering and the Music Industry has boosted this eager 29 year old in enhancing his talents and capabilities. Some of Mozaik’s accolades include the production of the biggest album of 2010 in Swaziland, Siyinqaba - “The Album”. The album won awards for Album of the Year, Hip Hop Album of the year and one of the songs on the album got a nomination for Song of the year, even though that award went to “Imiyalo” the first single on
Nomalungelo’s album which was also produced and co-written by Mozaik. Imiyalo is currently on rotation on a number of radio stations in South Africa and Botswana.
In 2009 he was appointed Entertainment Manager at Tinkers Sports & Entertainment Bar in Manzini. In 2010, he was one of the “Shine Music Talent Show” judges and in 2011, The Tihlabani Awards’ music director.
Amongst others, Mozaik has done scores for films, voice-overs for radio adverts & jingles; and produced & Co-wrote the theme song for KFC’s So Good campaign.
Other projects include collaborations with Dj Qness, co-wrote and recorded "Everything (feat. Msimisi)" which is one of his biggest singles, and songs which will feature in Dino Bravo’s Album. Currently, Mozaik's "21st Century Love" is getting airplay in Zambia and South African radio stations.
